17 Aug How Scott Hansen Moved Clients Online And Added $9,500 in Revenue During The Pandemic
When the Covid-19 pandemic shut down gyms in California and threw most trainers out of work, Scott Hansen was able to keep all his clients and add new ones because he was already enrolled in Bach Business Coaching.
With 15 years of experience, regular articles in T-Nation, and an income most trainers can only dream of…
…Scott was already one of the top coaches in the United States. But he realized he needed help to get to the next level.
Scott’s niche is experienced lifters who STILL like to lift heavy, even though they are now in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s and have busy family and work lives.
“I was making six figures coaching in-person before the pandemic. But when it hit, I had no idea what would happen,” says Scott. “I had reached out to Eric and Daniel because my online coaching business was not going anywhere. I had a lead magnet that was no longer relevant and the gym that I rented space from was forced to close.”
“I was pretty nervous, but Eric and Daniel helped me work through the sticky spots.”
“They helped me put systems in place to transfer clients to an online model immediately. Five months into the Covid-19 situation I maintained my entire clientele, plus added 4 new online clients. That’s roughly an increase of about $9,500 a year.”
Scott is a gifted writer who was already posting solid info on social media and sending regular emails. What was lacking were clear calls to action that made the case for hiring him.
“Before, I didn’t really know how to do this very well and just hoped people would reach out,” says Scott.
“Second thing we worked on was to really focus on building my email list with Facebook ads, which generated 12,000 views to my content, added 700 new followers on social media and led to 200 new email sign ups.”
Scott then focussed on meeting clients where they were during changing times. As the pandemic dragged on he “started to see people are just realizing now that they can’t just put off waiting to start things anymore.”
Scott convinced a gym owner to move his equipment outside, creating an outdoor gym, but “some people still weren’t comfortable training at an outdoor gym. So I invited them to train in my home gym one by one,” says Scott. The plan is to grow them into online clients.
An important lesson Scott learned from Bach Business Coaching was how to recycle old emails, social media posts, blog posts, and full length articles.
“I don’t think I realized that I could do that. It was almost like I needed permission to reuse stuff.”
“I probably have a hundred blog posts that I have written over the years. Plus a bunch of long form articles and 500 Instagram posts. So, It’s a little copy and build out. Which is a lot easier than to think up things out of the blue.”
“Now, people can see a social media post and be strategically directed to more of my content, whether that’s a lead magnet, an article I’ve written in the past, or my online coaching page. This keeps me top of mind and builds a stronger relationship to drive new business.”
Who Should Enrol in Bach Business Coaching?
“Anyone who wants to coach clients online should take this course,” says Scott.
“Online coaching isn’t as easy as putting out a shirtless selfie and then raking in money with an infinite number of new clients.”
“You need to have systems so people don’t fall through the cracks.”
“You need to have a consistent, relevant, and relatable message.”
“And you need to manage your own time and energy so you can keep it up consistently.”
“This course helped me do all of that.”
The Takeaway
Scott says “this course took me from training clients online as a means to an end to an important revenue source for my business.”
“Last month, for the first time, I was able to pay my mortgage and the rent I pay to a gym from out of my business account, while also paying myself more than I was paying before I started Bach Business Coaching.”
“But it’s not just about the money. It’s also about getting to a place now where I’m trying to figure out what I can outsource and who I can hire to do different things as I continue to expand and make more money in less time.”
It all begins with a free coaching call to see if we might have a match.
